Like Twitter, but with a tamper-evident seal.

After 3,000 or so tweets, my love affair with Twitter is no more. There was a lot I enjoyed about the service: near instant, though often suspect news, a public though obviously narcissistic stream of consciousness, and real-time updates from those individuals, industries and companies I am most interested in.

But there was too much junk to wade through. Every single day I had 30-50 spam followers to block via an awful interface and for the most part, as we all know, updates were mainly useless, a practice I readily admit I am guilty of — if “guilty” is the right word. The straw that broke the camel’s back, however, was Twitter’s failure to do anything (literally anything) about it. And no, following and constantly DM-ing @spam doesn’t count as anything.

Still, I do suffer from the need to share my own stream in a positive and continuous way. Plus, I really needed to have a URL dedicated to my name. Ultimately, though, what I would like this site to become is (1) a place for people to find out more about me without wading through Google (though this site will be added to my Google Profile soon); (2) a place to keep track of my ideas and projects; and (3) as I mentioned above, a Twitter-like stream of consciousness.

After giving up on regular me-type blogging (with over one thousand posts to show for it) for Twitter, I’m happy to say I’ve returned. Hope you enjoy. And by you, I very likely mean only me.
